Heard my most expected album of the year
"KADAL".. Already mindblown with "Nenjukkulle" and "Ale keechaan".. I
was bit nervous with the songs as excitement level killed me..
The first song that I heard is "Adiye".. The first and it is a best,.. The high pitch is killing.. And the lyrics.. Madhan karky can be proud of his poetic attempt like "மீன தூக்கி நீ ரெக்க வரைஞ்ச.. வானம் மேல நீ வீசி எரிஞ்ச.. பறக்க பழக்குறியே".. Sid sriram, everytime when he shouts "adiye", goosepumps..
"Moongil thootam" by Vairamuthu is the only duet of the album.. Lyrics are from his poem "idhu podhum enaku".. Harini and Abhay are mesmerising.. A perfect tune for night time..
"Chithirai nila" is again by vairamuthu.. A completely different genre.. The song is self motivating. The lyrics are from Vairamuthu's "Thaneer desam".. Vijay yesudas gave a beautiful powerful rendition..
"Magudi magudi" is a techno rap number.. I wonder y this song comes.. It made me to think whether "kadal" is a city story.. Electrical guitar, raps are peaking.. Suddenly a girl speaks.. Chinmayi did this portion.. And there starts the most romantic part of the song..
And finally, a great surprise for maniratnam fans is "anbin vaasale".. Yup.. A devotional song in maniratnam film.. A solo number by Haricharan.. The choir by girls praising lord is the backdrop.. This song is surely a mystery..
From the album, you cant guess anything.. You cant decide for whom each song is going to be on screen.. That is the success of Maniratnam.. Now its time to wait for visuals..
